Community Activities

The building that is home of Hopes and Beams on Broad Street, Crewe, used to be a school. Now it is a hub of all sorts of activities. It is an accessible venue, open to the whole community but specially adapted to be fun and safe for children and young people.

LADIES' Fitness GROUP

A group for women aged 50+ to make friends, have tea, coffee and a chat, along with doing light exercise.

The funniest and most entertaining Bingo you are ever likely to attend! Come along and you might be in a chance to bag some prizes. Featuring six games at only £1 per game, with tea and coffee at halftime. All money raised supports our work providing for disabled youngsters and senior members of the community.

Making golden memories

An activity club suitable for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their carers.

A host of activities to get the grey matter working, including boccia, kurling, pool, jigsaws, draughts, dominoes and singing. Chat about the old times and make some new memories. Tea and biscuits are provided and one carer per person can attend free of charge.

Part of our combatting loneliness in the community initiative.

LADIES' Freindship GROUP

A group for women aged 50+ to make friends, have tea, coffee and a chat. This group is like the Monday Fitness group but the emphasis is on friendship and having a good time.

sequence dancing

For beginners and intermediate level, sequence dancing is a great way to keep fit and meet people. Don’t worry if you don’t have a partner, we will always pair you up. Come and dance your worries away with instructors Rosemary and Gordon. Refreshments available.

WOMEN'S FITNESS & RELAXaTION (new class)

A brand new class especially designed for mums and carers looking after people with disabilities / additional needs. This is a class were you will laugh, have fun and de-stress while exercising. This also includes relaxation and mediation to ease the mind from the stress of caring for others daily.

Poppy’s is the friendly and welcoming non-for-profit community restaurant at the centre of Broad Street, Crewe.

It’s a great place to meet friends and enjoy our homemade hot food, desserts, traditional afternoon teas and soft drinks. We always have a vegetarian choice and a healthy option. 

Entirely staffed by a lovely team of volunteers, all profits from the restaurant go to support Hopes and Beams’ work with children and young adults with disabilities.

(Tuesdays are very popular so we recommend reserving a table in advance for Tuesdays to avoid disappointment.)

Party bookings are welcome, and we can also cater for corporate events, dinner parties, wakes and celebration evenings with hot meal, buffet, vintage tea or other options by special arrangement.
